General Guidelines
The 12-14 selected pieces will:
- Demonstrate creative vision and use of materials
- Show integrity of structure and craftsmanship
- Be weather-resistant
- Be suitable for public display
- Be stable, free-standing or mountable, or site-specific
- Be large enough to be easily seen
Submission Outline:
- Sculpture will be selected by jury of qualified professionals
- Work from individuals or teams will be considered
- Maximum number of 3 entries per/ artist or team
- $25 entry fee per artist or team
- Submit CD with completed entry form and photo or sketch of sculpture for each entry
- Artist to transport and install with city on-site assistance where justified and/or pre-arranged
- Sculptor is responsible for anchoring systems
- Work insured by City of Salisbury (see complete insurance information on website.)
- Work may be replaced with pre-approved piece if sold
- Public Art Committee commission on sales: 25%
Awards and Stipends
Awards Granted:
- Best in Show: $1500.00
- 1st Runner up: $750.00
- 2nd Runner up: $500.00
Stipends:
All selected artists will recieve a stipend for installed artwork at the following rates:- $750 for artists located within a 100mi radius of Salisbury.
- $850 for artists located within a 100-200mi radius.
- $950 for artists located beyond a 200mi radius of Salisbury.
